Game 8: USA 61 vs 0 Guatemala

Team USA dominates over Guatemala; Will face Mexico in the Championship game







With a total of nine touchdowns, the US team looked dominant in their penultimate game of the 2016 edition of the World University Championship of American Football, defeating its counterpart in Guatemala by the score of 61-0.
From the first series, the United States opened the scoreboard with a pass to wide receiver Joseph Worth for a 60 yards touchdown. The extra point was converted by Ryan Gralish to open the scoring board 7-0.
The American defense looked strong and stopped the Guatemalans first drive to let their offense score their second touchdown with a pass from the 12-yard line from Tryvoy Reginald to Neal Langford to increase their advantage to 14-0.

Shick Samuel intercepted quarterback of Guatemala Miguel Bautista to reach the end zone after running 26 yards and this time was not good extra and got the score 20-0.

In the next offensive drive, Guatemala punted the ball and London Fitzhugh took it home and returned 53 yards to increase the lead, and with the extra US went 27-0.

Again Baptist was intercepted but this time by Nathaniel Robinson for the fifth touchdown who returned the ball 40 yards to the end zone for the Americans and with the extra Gralish the lead to 34-0.

In the second period James Blank got a 33-yards touchdown to increase their lead 41-0.

The last entry of the first half was a result of a fumble recovered in the yard Maxime Allen 20 Guatemala to go into the break 48-0.

On the third quarter there was one more touchdown for the americans on pass of 88 yards to Lane Knost.

On the last quarter a final touchdown on a one yard run from Johnathon Rodríguez put the final score 61-0.

The United States will now face Team Mexico the current champion for the World Championship, next Saturday June 11th at 18:00hrs on Monterrey Tech Stadium.
